• Latest Federal Vaccine Mandates Apply to Many AAAs

  In September, President Biden announced additional measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 through mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for certain employees in the private sector, federal government and health care settings. President Biden's plan directed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to issue an emergency temporary standard (ETS) requiring vaccination or weekly COVID-19 testing for employees of large private-sector businesses. OSHA's ETS policy went into effect and supporting guidance was issued on November 5.

  After nearly 18 months of living with COVID-19, many of us, including the older adults we serve, could benefit from checking-up on healthy aging habits. This is why the Eldercare Locator's 2021 Home for the Holidays campaign will focus on educating older adults and caregivers on some of the simple questions they can ask to check in with themselves and their older loved ones—and how to access services provided by the Aging Network that can enhance the ability of older adults to age well in their homes and communities.
