Bethany Coulter

Bethany L. Coulter joined USAging in April 2024 as the organization’s Chief Communications Officer, responsible for overseeing the association’s brand, the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies, and guiding the communications staff in supporting the organization’s mission to help older adults and people with disabilities live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities.

Bethany has 30 years of experience in communications, marketing, and development for nonprofit organizations, including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the American Occupational Therapy Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the American Association of Immunologists (AAI). She is skilled in strategic communications planning and creating successful public awareness, media and fundraising campaigns. The AAI 2022 National Immunization Awareness Month multi-media campaign, for which Bethany was responsible, was recognized with both the 2023 American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Gold Circle Award for Media/PR Campaign and the 2023 Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence in Association Communications.

Bethany has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a master’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University. She earned a certificate in strategic communications planning from Ithaca College and holds a certificate in association leadership from ASAE.
