Yet Another AAA Witness! USAging Member Testifies on Falls Prevention Before the Senate Aging Committee

This week, Christine Didion, Director of Programs at the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas (USAging member) in Florida, testified before the Senate Special Committee on Aging. Her testimony highlighted the critical role Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) play in administering evidence-based falls prevention programs through Older Americans Act (OAA) Title III D and other funding sources.

Christine's testimony emphasized the need for increased funding for OAA Titles III D and III B to help keep up with demand for the programs and address AAA waitlists, and she highlighted the importance of reauthorizing the OAA. She also shared real-world stories of older adults her agency supports through the 61 public–private partnerships the AAA has formed to deliver falls prevention-related programming in their planning and service area.
