n4a Submits Comments on Senate Finance Committee Chronic Care Working Group Policy Options Document

The U.S. Senate Finance Committee has convened a bipartisan working group of lawmakers to explore policy options to lower costs and improve care for Medicare beneficiaries suffering from multiple chronic conditions. In December 2015, the working group released a paper outlining over 20 legislative policy options aimed at achieving that goal. n4a submitted comments to the working group, which highlight the critical role of the Aging Network and other community-based organizations in improving health outcomes and lowering costs for beneficiaries. n4a also spoke to the concern that most of the policy options outlined focused primarily on the Medicare Advantage program when 70 percent of Medicare beneficiaries receive benefits under traditional Medicare.
