Leland Kiang

Leland Kiang joined USAging as a Program Manager in May 2022. He oversees USAging’s role in the Grandfamilies and Kinship Support Network: A National Technical Assistance Center, which is funded by the Administration for Community Living and led by Generations United, to increase the capacity and effectiveness of states, territories, tribes/tribal organizations, nonprofits and other community-based organizations to serve and support kinship families and grandfamilies. He manages USAging’s activities related to this project, including collecting and reporting data on the status of kinship care and grandfamily programming by Area Agencies on Aging and Title VI Native American Aging Programs, contributing to regional convenings on grandfamilies and kinship families and supporting the technical assistance activities of the network.
 
Before joining USAging, Leland worked at a local aging services agency, managing its Information and Referral program. Leland is a licensed clinical social worker who has trained other professionals on aging services and has provided case management to older adults and people with disabilities. Leland holds a Master’s degree in social work from Catholic University and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of California in Santa Cruz.
