Deborah Stone-Walls

Deborah Stone-Walls joined USAging in September 2021 in the role of Chief, Programs and Services. In this capacity, she oversees the association’s portfolio of programs that help its Area Agency on Aging and Title VI Native American Aging Program members support older adults and people with disabilities as they live independently in the communities of their choosing.
 
In her more than 30 years as a practitioner and administrator in the field of human services, Deborah has served older adults, individuals of all ages with disabilities and family caregivers with passion and a commitment to improving overall quality of life.
 
From 2008 to 2021, she held the position of Executive on Aging for the Maui County Office on Aging/Aging and Disability Resource Center. During her time as the Executive on Aging, Deborah highly valued her agency’s USAging membership and ultimately served on the USAging Board of Directors from 2009 to 2018, then was elected by USAging members to serve as President from July 2018 through July 2021.
 
In addition to her roles as a AAA director, USAging board member and President, Deborah was selected by the U.S. Administration for Community Living in 2019 to serve as one of the 15 voting members of the RAISE Family Caregiver Advisory Council. This body is charged to assist in the development of a national strategy to more effectively address caregiver supports and services.
 
Deborah holds a bachelor’s degree in Home and Family Life from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Phoenix.
