USAging Disaster Relief Fund

When natural disasters occur, older adults are often the most affected. And while recovery begins immediately for many, older adults tend to take the longest time to recover. It is for this reason that USAging’s Disaster Relief Fund exists—to provide Area Agencies on Aging and Title VI Native American Aging Programs with vital support to help build and sustain their efforts to support older adults in their communities as they recover from hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters.

But recovery doesn’t happen overnight. In many cases, it can take years. That’s where USAging’s Disaster Relief Fund comes in. Since its creation more than 15 years ago, our Disaster Relief Fund has provided crucial resources to AAAs and Title VI Native American Aging Programs and helped affected agencies meet critical needs of older adults in their communities.

Contributions to the USAging Disaster Relief Fund will help local AAAs and Title VI Native American Aging Programs continue providing outreach and assistance to older adults in their communities by providing or helping purchase food, clothing, prescriptions and other health care needs, as well as critical household goods.

There are three ways to donate to the USAging Disaster Relief Fund:

  • Online via credit card.
  • Via check. Please make your check payable to USAging and note “Disaster Relief Fund” on the check or accompanying correspondence, and send to P.O. Box 791067, Baltimore, MD 21279.
  • Via payment of annual dues. USAging members can add a donation to the Building Our Capacity Fund on to their annual dues invoice. (Generate your agency’s invoice.)
