Eligibility Criteria
To be included in the Caregiver Services and Supports Innovations Hub, programs, services and interventions must meet the following criteria:
- A program, service or intervention that mainly serves family caregivers.
- A program, service or intervention that focuses on family caregiver services that are innovative and may be implemented across the Aging Network.
- Examples may include (but are not limited to):
- Caregiver peer support and counseling programs
- Respite alternatives including those targeted to kinship caregivers
- Use of technology and assistive devices to support caregivers
- Caregiver training series and refresher courses that meet the needs of busy caregivers
- Supports for caregivers of people living with dementia
- Examples may include (but are not limited to):
- A program, service or intervention administered by a local, state or national organization. Organizations may include nonprofits, governments or council of governments, educational institutions, faith-based entities or other community-based organizations.
- A program, service or intervention that is considered innovative and/or evidence-informed, as defined by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) (see below) and demonstrates positive outputs for program participants.
- Per the ACL, an innovative practice
- May be effective (some data available), but not yet evaluated using experimental or quasi-experimental design (e.g., using control group and random assignment)
- Not yet inclusive of guidance to reproduce practice
- Not yet translated in a different site or population
- Per ACL, an evidence-informed practice
- Found to be effective through evaluation (but not using experimental or quasi-experimental design) or adapted from an evidence-based practice (without exact fidelity to the model)
- Inclusive of guidance to carry out essential activities (e.g., protocol, checklist)
- Translated at least once before in one or more site(s)
- Per the ACL, an innovative practice
- The program, service or intervention must have been in operation for at least six months for consideration.
- Businesses/LLCs/For-profit organizations are not eligible.
Note: Innovative and/or evidence-informed program, services and interventions from outside the U.S. and outside of the Aging Network are welcome to submit for inclusion in the Hub.
