Senators Turn to Next Coronavirus Response Legislation

Senators will return to Washington next week, and our expectation is that details will soon emerge about the chamber's next round of virus relief legislation. This activity is expected months after the House passed their $3 trillion relief package, the HEROES Act, and is expected to be much more modest despite a raging virus outbreak and benefits that expire at the end of July. Your advocacy is still needed!

It is essential that Senators consistently hear from local advocates about the importance of including additional emergency funding for critical aging programs including Older Americans Act and Medicaid. Please continue to use n4a's advocacy resources, which include our template letter to Senators and social media messages. It's not too late to weigh in (or to reach out a second time), but please take action now!

Additionally, local and state organizations from the key states of Kentucky, New York, Oregon and Iowa can sign on to letters about the importance of increasing funding for Medicaid by emailing n4a's Senior Director, Public Policy & Advocacy Autumn Campbell (acampbell@n4a.org) by noon on Monday, July 20.
