Dementia Friends USA Now in 23 States/Territories! Will Your State Be Next?

Dementia Friends USA is excited to add Guam to the list of 23 states and territories participating in the initiative! Dementia Friends Guam plans to offer Dementia Friends sessions for senior centers, middle and high schools, as well as for faith communities, first responders and other community partners. Dementia Friends Guam will be administered by the Guam/Micronesia Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) at the University of Guam's School of Health.

Many Dementia Friends programs are adapting during the coronavirus crisis by offering live, virtual sessions instead of in-person sessions. Encouraging individuals to adopt dementia-friendly behaviors is the reason Dementia Friends USA exists—and it is part of a global movement that is changing the way people think, act and talk about dementia. The vision of the Dementia Friends program is that by helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference. There are millions of Dementia Friends globally and more than 82,000 in the United States. Dementia Friends USA is administered by n4a.
