On the heels of the first meeting of the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council earlier this week with participation by n4a President Deborah Stone-Walls comes the news that n4a CEO Sandy Markwood has been selected to serve as faculty for the National Academy for State Health Plans Policy's RAISE Act Family Caregiver Resource and Dissemination Center.
Recognizing the vital role AAAs play in supporting family caregivers in communities around the country, n4a President Deborah Stone-Walls and n4a CEO Sandy Markwood have been selected for participation on two panels that will strengthen support provided to caregivers.
Earlier this week, n4a President Deborah Stone-Walls attended the first meeting of the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council. Established by the 2018 RAISE Family Caregiver Act, the Advisory Council will make recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services on effective models of family caregiving and ways to better support family caregivers. The Council will also recommend ways to improve coordination among the federal government agencies that play a role in caregiving.
n4a CEO Sandy Markwood will serve as faculty on the National Academy for State Health Plans Policy's RAISE Act Family Caregiver Resource and Dissemination Center, which will work closely with ACL to support its work with the RAISE Act Family Caregiver Council by providing timely information, identifying and facilitating access to expertise and research, and disseminating the work of the Council to key audiences, including state and federal policy makers and other stakeholders.
