Trauma-Informed Care Funding Opportunity
The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) just released an RFP from their Center for Advancing Holocaust Survivor Care. The new funding will expand person-centered, trauma-informed services for Holocaust Survivors throughout the United States. n4a is pleased to partner on this important initiative, which we believe will have long-term benefit to the Aging Network via continued learning about providing trauma-informed services to other populations of older adults, as well.
The Application, RFP and Program Guidelines, and information about eligibility can be found at www.holocaustsurvivorcare.org. Applicants must submit an “Intent to Apply” by July 14, 2017 and submit the application by August 22, 2017.
n4a encourages all interested Area Agencies on Aging to consider applying, to encourage any qualified local providers to apply or to reach out to other community partners to consider this unique opportunity!
Launched in 2015 in partnership with The Jewish Federations of North America, the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies, and the Conference on Material Claims Against Germany, this federal grant program is the result of successful advocacy to Congress and the Administration, and a successful philanthropic campaign to raise funds to help the nation's aging Holocaust Survivors. JFNA will award approximately 20 subgrants with funding from the federal government and philanthropic efforts. This is the third RFP funding cycle of the grant program. The JTA recently featured Mark Wilf and Todd Morgan's op-ed about the program.
With the advancement of this program, more Holocaust Survivors will be able to live independently with dignity and comfort in their homes and communities. For more information, please contact HolocaustCenter@JewishFederations.org.
