Training to Strengthen Volunteer Programs Expands

The Aging Network Volunteer Resource Center training program, featuring five webinars, peer exchange and tailored assistance, kicked off this week with teams from 25 agencies.

Originally designed for a class of ten, the program was expanded to include two larger classes. A third class for long-term care ombudsmen is scheduled to begin in May. Sherri Clark from the Administration for Community Living welcomed participating agencies to the first webinar and applauded their commitment to meeting the needs of older adults through volunteer service.

Participating teams have started a process to assess their current program and needs and to take steps to strengthen their programs and increase volunteer engagement. By participating in the program, these energetic and committed teams of staff and volunteers are “stepping up” and taking their programs to a whole new level!
