Two Presidential Campaigns Address Aging Issues at Forum

Yesterday, the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations, of which n4a is a member, held a presidential election forum called Seniors Decide 2016.

More than 200 watch parties joined the conversation and 1,400 questions were submitted for candidates in advance. Two presidential candidates were represented at the event: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) spoke and took questions via a live feed, and on behalf of Gov. John Kasich (R-OH), former Congressman Tom Davis (R-VA) made remarks and took questions, as well.

Speakers commented on federal budget issues, reforms to Medicare and Medicaid, Older Americans Act and more. The event was rounded out by presentations from Democratic and Republican pollsters speaking to voting patterns of older adults.
