Congress and Advocates Pivot to Next Round of Pandemic Response Legislation

After Congress passed and the president signed into law the latest COVID-19 relief package, lawmakers and advocates are now turning to broader policy priorities and opportunities for what will be the fourth phase of a legislative response to the coronavirus crisis. n4a previously sent a letter to congressional leadership outlining key Aging Network priorities for the next round of emergency policymaking. However, input from local advocates will be crucial in the coming weeks as lawmakers weigh priorities from many constituencies.
And that's where you come in! Earlier this week n4a released an Advocacy Alert with social media messaging and outreach tools that AAAs and grassroots advocates to emphasize the importance of expanding access to home and community based services; alleviating widespread social isolation; increasing investments in SHIP and other health care programs; and promoting access to personal protective equipment for the vital aging services workforce.
