On Tuesday, the Senate unanimously passed the Supporting Older Americans Act of 2020, H.R. 4334, which reauthorizes the federal Older Americans Act through 2024. This is a major milestone in a year-long path toward updating this vital federal program. The bill will now head to the House chamber where we expect Representatives to pass the bipartisan measure and send it to the President's desk for signature.
As we all know, our work isn't finished until the bill is signed so advocates should continue to engage their Members of Congress: thank your Senators for approving this important bill and urge your Representatives to support the bicameral compromise. Take a look at n4a's recent Legislative Update for details about the bill.
