Lawmakers come back to DC next week after two weeks in their districts and states. Shortly after their return, both the House and the Senate will begin debates on federal funding and Older Americans Act reauthorization in earnest.
We expect that the House Appropriations subcommittee and full committee with jurisdiction over spending decisions for OAA and other critical aging programs will consider their FY 2020 funding bills in late April and early May, and that the Senate will follow suite in early June. It also seems likely that the Senate will begin committee discussions about OAA reauthorization in early May and that the House will follow shortly thereafter.
