FY 2020 Funding Discussions Heating Up in Congress

Following last week's budget request from the Trump Administration, lawmakers on Capitol Hill are beginning to debate funding decisions for FY 2020. The House and the Senate will have to negotiate top-line spending levels for federal programs, but in the meantime, lawmakers are beginning to submit their requests for agency line-items.

In the House, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) is asking her House colleagues to sign on to a Dear Colleague letter requesting significant increases for Older Americans Act Title III programs—including III B Supportive Services, III C Nutrition Programs and III E Family Caregiver Support Programs. n4a sent an Advocacy Alert earlier this week asking advocates to encourage their Representatives to sign on to the letter. The deadline for signatures has been extended to Monday, March 25, so reach out today!
