Aging Network Advocates Descend on DC

This week we welcomed 175 aging champions from around the country to the 25th anniversary of n4a's Annual Aging Policy Briefing & Capitol Hill Day. At Tuesday's Briefing, attendees heard the latest in aging and health care policy news coming from Congress and the Administration.

They also joined several members of Congress, including House Education and Labor Chairman Bobby Scott (D-VA), at a reception on Capitol Hill celebrating the 25th anniversary milestone while honoring congressional champions Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) and Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK) for their commitment to securing increased funding for critical OAA programs.

On Wednesday, advocates headed to Capitol Hill primed with n4a's recently released 2019 Policy Priorities and Recommendations for the Reauthorization of the Older Americans Act to speak with Members of Congress and their staff about how they can support the Aging Network in enabling older adults and caregivers to age with health, independence and dignity in their homes and communities for as long as possible. An overview of the Aging Policy Briefing as well as presentations and photos will be posted online in the coming days.
