New Tools for Supporting Grandfamilies

We know from last summer's OAA policy survey and our ongoing conversations with our members that some of your agencies are facing increasing demand for grandparents-raising-grandchildren services as the opioid epidemic continues to strain communities. n4a partner Generations United has several new tools we recommend to help support your work with these families—whether your agency has a formal program or not.

For grandfamilies impacted by opioids and other substance abuse, check out GU's new consumer-facing publication that has recommendations and resources on five topics identified by kinship caregivers as uniquely challenging for grandfamilies impacted by substance use. For your staff, there are two new primers on adoption and guardianship options for children in kinship foster care.
