Details Announced on Full-Year FY 2019 Funding for OAA

Late Thursday night, lawmakers released details on a final FY 2019 federal funding agreement for the Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services—including funding for Older Americans Act and other federal aging programs.

Overall, OAA programs saw either exciting increases or level funding—including an additional $1.5 million for OAA Title VI programs and $10 million for nutrition programs. n4a will release additional details about specific program funding levels soon. The agreement includes a provision to continue federal funding for other agencies—thereby avoiding threat of a government shutdown before the election—it is likely that lawmakers will pass this bill before the start of the FY 2019 fiscal year.
