Celebrate Grandparents Day on September 9

n4a is encouraging its members to take part in Grandparent's Day. Spearheaded by Generations United, Grandparents Day is an annual campaign to encourage communities to "Do Something Grand" and engage with another generation. n4a encourages its members to use this as an opportunity to highlight the importance of helping older adults remain active and engaged in your community while promoting your intergenerational programs and service opportunities.

The Grandparents Day website has a number of toolkits and resources with ideas and information on ways to get involved, including a Take Action Guide with suggestions for participating on social media and in your community.

Generations United is also a valuable partner in n4a's social engagement initiative, engAGED: The National Resource Center for Engaging Older Adults. Visit the engAGED resource center to learn more about how intergenerational activities can improve the lives of older adults and strengthen communities, including our newest fact sheet, Stay Active Through Intergenerational Connections.
