Engaging Dementia-Friendly Communities During Older Americans Month

As part of Older Americans Month, Dementia Friendly America partnered with Leading Age to promote the important role individuals can play in ensuring that those living with dementia are welcomed and supported by their communities.

The goal of Dementia Friendly America is to ensure that communities support and serve those living with dementia and their caregivers. Dementia Friends USA, a DFA program, is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. By watching a short series of videos or participating in an in-person group session, Dementia Friends helps everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people—and that each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia. n4a administers both Dementia Friendly America and Dementia Friends.
