New Business Institute Blog Highlights Collaborations on Integrated Care

A new blog from n4a's Aging and Disability Business Institute shines a spotlight on the National Academy of Medicine's (NAM) Care Culture and Decision-Making Innovation Collaborative.

Co-authored by June Simmons, President and CEO of Partners in Care Foundation, and Marisa Scala-Foley, Director of the Office of Integrated Care Innovations at the Administration for Community Living, the blog recaps a recent NAM Collaborative meeting that brought together leading experts in health care, researchers, providers, health plans, and leadership from government and the private sector. The meeting exemplified the increasing recognition of social and behavioral determinants of health as powerful forces that are crucial to health self-management in person-centered care models.

NAM's Collaborative meeting comes at a time when the need for integrated clinical and social services in treating the unique needs of complex-care individuals is rapidly changing the direction of the American health care system.
