Dementia experts from around the globe gathered at the December Salzburg Global Seminar to discuss Changing Minds: Innovations in Dementia Care and Dementia-Friendly Communities. Forty participants, including a representative from Act on Alzheimer's, the model which Dementia Friendly America is based on, attended this year's seminar.
The mission of Salzburg Global Seminar is to challenge current and future leaders to solve issues of global concern. Participants from the 14 countries represented have agreed to develop a Salzburg Statement that they can use as a framework when approaching governments and organizations on ways to enhance or explore dementia care in their communities.
n4a provides leadership and staff administration of Dementia Friendly America (DFA), a national movement supporting communities that are working to become more dementia friendly. The Eldercare Locator and n4a recently launched the 2017 Home for the Holidays campaign with the publication of Living Well With Dementia in the Community: Resources and Support, a consumer brochure targeted to individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. Order the brochure today to educate your communities about the many supports available for people with dementia and their caregivers.
