Register for Stepping Up Volunteer Program for SMPs

In partnership with the SMP Resource Center, n4a's Aging Network Volunteer Resource Center (ANVRC) is offering its Stepping Up webinar series to Senior Medicare Patrols (SMPs) this October. To participate in the program, apply by the September 15 deadline!

The SMP grant program, funded by the U.S. Administration for Community Living, supports projects that empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling, and education.

Kicking off this October, the seven-week Stepping Up program will offer five one-hour webinar sessions, assignments, networking opportunities and four hours of consulting assistance tailored to participants' needs.

Participants will:
  • Strengthen the capacity of their SMP to engage older volunteers in meaningful service
  • Prepare to implement a recruitment campaign, and
  • Become part of a peer learning community for ongoing support and inspiration.
Registration for this event is limited to 20 SMP programs or volunteer teams. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive an n4a certificate of completion. Those who would like to commit to participating in this series should submit their completed application to info@smpresource.org by Friday, September 15. For general questions about the ANVRC or the Stepping Up program, contact Peter Lane at plane@n4a.org.
