n4a and ACL Leadership Present on the Future of the Aging Network

This week, Edwin Walker, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aging at the Administration for Community Living, and n4a's Chief, Programs & Services Nora Super provided keynote remarks on the past, present and future of the national Aging Network at the National Association of Social Workers' (NASW) annual virtual conference.

Both noted that the Aging Network has undergone transformational changes in the last decade. Walker stressed six key focal points for the future: 1) Preventing Abuse and Improving Systems; 2) Business Acumen to Address Demand; 3) Quality; 4) Person-Centered Planning and Care; 5) VA Partnership; and 6) Reauthorization of Older Americans Act. Super drew from lessons learned at the 2015 White House Conference on Aging and the array of n4a's programs and services to position the Aging Network for continued success and growth, including the Aging and Disability Business Institute, the Dementia Friendly America initiative, the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center, the Eldercare Locator and Capacity Building
