Pharmacy Benefits Week in Full Swing!
Although our second annual Answers on AgingTM Pharmacy Benefits Week (PBW) just kicked off on January 30 (it runs through February 3), n4a member CICOA has already held multiple public events to educate older adults in central Indiana about the postive impact on their physical and financial health of maximizing their pharmacy benefits.
They indicated that the campaign toolkit was especially helpful because it made their counseling and other outreach efforts seamless.
"By holding daily events during the campaign, we can help close the resource gap for millions of older adults who don't believe they can afford their medications," said CICOA CEO Orion Bell. “Our options counselors also found the consumer quick guides and handouts to be useful resources for guiding these conversations and we plan to continue using them moving forward.”
To acknowledge AAAs that have worked hard to spread awareness and encourage older adults to take action, agencies who submit nominations for their campaign efforts will be eligible to receive the grand prize award of $2,000 or one of two $500 awards. Deadline for submissions is February 24. In an effort to facilitate your local efforts, n4a created a toolkit including assessment and outreach resources.
In addition to a being a valuable service to your clients, this initiative also enables you to connect with Walgreens regional leaders in your area who wish to support your efforts to educate clients and other community members, and most importantly, to help them take action.
