CMS Expanding Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program Could Mean Opportunities for the Aging Network

CMS recently finalized a proposal to expand the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) under Medicare.

The agency's Innovation Center program is the first disease prevention program to be expanded nationwide. While final regulations for Medicare-covered DPP services are expected later this year, CMS will host a call on November 30 to discuss the DPP expansion plan. The move to make DPP reimbursable under Medicare could be an opportunity for the Aging Network and other CBO's participating in evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion initiatives. n4a will release more analysis of the plan in the coming weeks, but we encourage agencies who are interested in learning more about opportunities to participate in DPP to register for the November 30 call.
