Keep Up the Drumbeat on the Need to Finalize FY 2017 Federal Funding

While the nation's attention is focused on the November election, it is imperative that local advocates continue to weigh in with their Members of Congress—both while they are in their Districts and states this month and after they return to Washington—about the importance of finishing FY 2017 appropriations this year.

More details are available in n4a's recent Advocacy Alert about steps that agencies and stakeholders can take to keep the focus on finalizing a long-term funding bill. n4a also recently sent a letter to Senate and House leadership and appropriators urging Congress to include the House-proposed levels for OAA and other aging programs in a final bill and to reject Senate-proposed cuts to SHIP, SCSEP and Title VI Native American aging programs. Advocates can use this template letter to assist your own outreach to your Senators and Representatives.
