After a stalemate that lasted most of September, Congress sped a bill through both chambers yesterday to fund federal agencies at current levels through December 9.
The stop-gap bill, known as a continuing resolution (CR), was log-jammed over disaster assistance funding for Flint, MI, until an eleventh-hour compromise allayed partisan disagreements and cleared the way for Senate and House approval. To keep spending within current budget caps for FY 2017, the CR included an across-the-board, temporary 0.5 percent cut to all federal programs. What this means for OAA allocations from AoA remains to be seen, but n4a will release details as soon as possible. More information about the CR is available in n4a's Legislative Update.
