n4a welcomes new Leadership and Volunteer Director!

We are pleased to announce that Peter Lane joined n4a as Director, Leadership and Volunteer Development on Tuesday, September 6.  Peter comes to n4a with more than 20 years of experience as a leadership and organizational effectiveness educator, manager and consultant.
He will be responsible for directing the Aging Network Volunteer Resource Center (ANVRC), which was developed to increase the number of older adult volunteers nationwide and to enrich their experience as they assume a critical role within AAAs.

In addition, Peter will take an active role in planning n4a's acclaimed Leadership Institute and other initiatives related to leadership development. These initiatives have been developed to strengthen the capabilities of Aging Network directors and staff who will play such a crucial role in forging the future of aging in America.

Recently, Peter served as Director of Programs at the Institute for Conservation of Leadership, where he directed leadership and capacity building consulting services including needs assessments, contracting, monitoring service delivery by consultants and evaluation.  He has also managed training programs for volunteers at the National Association of Counties and Whitman-Walker Health.

Peter assumes this new role after the retirement of Tom Endres. n4a wishes Tom well in this new chapter in his life and know that he will be actively volunteering soon!
