Maine AAA Wins Prestigious Business Award

Developed to honor community-based organizations that have successfully partnered with health care entities, The John A. Hartford Foundation Business Innovation Award was presented to the Southern Maine Agency on Aging (SMAA) at the n4a 41st Annual Conference and Tradeshow in San Diego. 

Awarded by n4a's National Aging and Disability Business Center, on behalf of The John A. Hartford Foundation, SMAA recieved recognition for their transformative work to substantially improve the quality of life of older adults and people with disabilities.

SMAA was nominated by the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization, with the following endorsement: "Under the tremendous leadership of CEO Larry Gross and through the dedication of his employees, the Maine Health ACO rarely thinks of optimal care delivery without thinking about the influence of our close and trusted partner, Southern Maine Agency on Aging."

Ellen Schmeding, Director of the County of San Diego, Aging & Independence Services, and Connie Benton Wolfe, President & CEO of Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana also received honors for their groundbreaking and innovative work.
