Eldercare Locator Takes Three Millionth Call
The Eldercare Locator, the nations only information and referral resource to provide support across the spectrum of issues affecting older Americans, received its three millionth call this week.
The call came from a daughter who was seeking options for low-income housing for her 75-year-old, disabled mother. The Eldercare Locator Information Specialist educated the caller about access to low-income housing and resources that may be able to assist her, including contact information for her local Area Agency on Aging and HUD office. She was also sent an Eldercare Locator brochure on housing options.
Next week, stay tuned for a report the Eldercare Locator will release on data collected from the over 271,000 contacts it received in 2014.
