New topical resources on homelessness are available. Also, funding for homeless continuums of care (CoCs) may offer AAAs and Title VI programs with a new option for partnering.
- The National Low-Income Housing Coalition has a new fact sheet on older adults' housing instability and homelessness, Aging Advocates Are Housing Advocates.
- Eviction Prevention: A Toolkit for Tenants and Service Providers provides essential information to support stable tenancies and avert the trauma of housing eviction for people with mental health conditions, substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders. The Homeless and Housing Resource Center also released a webinar recording on this topic.
- From HUD, Housing Problem-Solving Foundations: Funding HPS Housing Problem Solving, outlines the foundational elements of this approach, the benefits of adopting it across a community and federal funding sources for various activities.
- HUD also released Homeless Response System 101 for CDBG-DR Grantees, which explains what homeless continuums of care (CoCs) are and do and suggests ways Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) grantees can partner with them.
- CoCBuilds is a $175 million funding opportunity from HUD open to CoCs for new construction, acquisition or rehabilitation of permanent supportive housing. Find your local CoC to explore partnering.
