New Consumer Resource on FLSA Wage and Overtime Laws

This week, the Department of Labor issued a consumer brochure intended to educate individuals and families who hire home care workers on the applicable minimum wage and overtime laws.

Since DOL's new regulations regarding the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) only went into effect last year, consumers are unlikely to understand what their responsibilities are. n4a encourages you to help spread of the word about this helpful guide.

As the guide was being developed, n4a and other advocacy groups provided input to DOL that improved its accessibility and clarity. AAAs, Title VI programs, providers and consumers can order the Guide by calling 1.866.487.9243 or accessing it online at www.dol.gov.homecare. An e-reader version is being developed as well.
