USAging Partners With Amazon on Successful Policy Event

Last week, USAging hosted a special policy briefing sponsored by Amazon, “Our Aging Nation: Policies and Programs Supporting Older Adults in Aging Well at Home.”

The event took place at Amazon's DC office and kicked off with a fireside chat featuring USAging CEO Sandy Markwood and Sarah Lloyd Stevenson, Senior Public Policy Manager at Amazon. Sandy and Sarah Llyod discussed the current state of aging in America and how the home and community-based services provided by the Aging Network are key in supporting healthy aging and livable communities. They also discussed the role of technology in aging and how AAAs are working with health care organizations to better address health-related social needs. Following the discussion, Amy Gotwals, Chief, Public Policy and External Affairs, and Olivia Umoren, Director, Public Policy and Advocacy, presented a policy update highlighting USAging's OAA reauthorization priorities. USAging looks forward to continuing our partnership with Amazon in the future!

USAging has teamed up with Amazon Ring on a new community initiative to help older adults maintain their independence and quality of life as they age. Ring is donating up to 5,000 Ring Video Doorbells and Stick Up Cams, and a free subscription for the life of each device to 10 AAAs located across the country. Learn more about this exciting new initiative.
