Members in the Senate and House Support Increased OAA Funding

The annual appropriations season is well underway in Congress, and n4a has been working with Members in both chambers on member-led requests for funding increases for multiple OAA programs.

In the Senate, Senator Sanders circulated a letter that garnered 31 signatures to request an overall 12 percent increase for OAA programs. In the House, several letters were circulated, including a letter led by Reps. Suzanne Bonamici and Patrick Murphy requesting an increase for OAA Title III B services, which was signed by 49 Representatives, as well as letters requesting increases for Elder Justice and Title III C Nutritional Services. More information will be released soon on how local agencies and advocates can follow up on these requests for increased funding.
