Leadership Institute Attendees Graduate as Stronger Leaders

Last week, nearly 40 directors and staff from n4a member agencies convened at Georgetown University in Washington, DC to take part in the 9th Annual n4a Leadership Institute.

Under the direction of nationally renowned leadership expert Doug Krug, the Class of 2016 discovered techniques for transforming interactions with staff, building stronger communication skills and becoming more effective leaders. Graduates left the three-day Institute with strategies and tools to move their agencies forward during these fast-changing times.

Attendee Tina Miller, Director of the Western Piedmont Area Agency on Aging in Hickory, NC, stated “I found the Leadership Institute invaluable. I left energized and challenged to improve on the important work we do at the AAA. I discovered new ways to think about my job, my leadership style and each of my staff and their strengths and contributions. The relationships I formed with other colleagues across the US will be lifelong.”

We hope many of you will be a part of next year's class as we celebrate the Leadership Institute's 10th anniversary. n4a thanks the Leadership Institute sponsors Harmony Information Systems (a division of Mediware) and Bateman Senior Meals for their longtime support of this program.
