Deadline Looms for Those Wishing to Apply for Valuable Medicare Part A Benefit

Time is running out for low-income people from 14 states who have not yet applied for conditional Medicare Part A, a benefit that may qualify them for assistance with premiums, co-insurance and co-payments.

The Medicare General Enrollment period closes on March 31, so Medicare counselors in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Carolina, Utah and Virginia are encouraged to remind their clients that they will lose out on this valuable benefit if they delay.

The Center for Medicare Advocacy developed a helpful, step-by-step guide to help people understand the benefit and instruct them on how to apply.
