Adults age 65 and older are at high risk of having serious health complications from the flu. This year, getting the flu shot is more important than ever. Encourage older adults in your community to get the flu shot this year by using campaign materials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Older adults who get the flu shot are protected from getting the flu—and have a reduced likelihood of spreading it to others. The CDC's seasonal flu vaccination campaign materials are available to assist Aging Network organizations in communicating about the importance of vaccination, promoting flu vaccinations and developing outreach strategies.

Seasonal Flu Vaccine Campaign Toolkit
This digital toolkit includes details on events/activities, sample social media and newsletter content, graphics, web assets and media prep material. This material is downloadable, shareable and available in Spanish.
Roll your #SleeveUp to #FightFlu
What will happen this fall and winter is uncertain, but the CDC is preparing for COVID-19 and seasonal flu to spread at the same time. In light of this situation, the CDC recently launched the Roll your #SleeveUp to #FightFlu campaign to motivate all Americans, including older adults, to get a flu vaccine. This social media toolkit includes customizable graphic frames for your organization to add pictures, sample social media messages and social media graphics to encourage members of your community to roll their #SleeveUp for an annual flu vaccine. By increasing the number of people vaccinated, we can reduce flu illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths this fall and winter, which can in turn help reduce the burden on our medical system and save medical resources for the care of COVID-19 patients. Campaign Toolkit
The Ad Council, the American Medical Association, the CDC and the CDC Foundation launched a new campaign, No One Has Time for Flu, to encourage Americans to get vaccinated against flu. A campaign toolkit, including prepared social media messages and graphics, radio and television PSAs and more are now available.
National Influenza Vaccination Week
The National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) is a national awareness week focused on highlighting the importance of influenza vaccination. NIVW 2020 is being observed from December 6-12.
